A few years ago, we started focusing on Eco friendly fabrics. We searched for a charcoal fabric supplier in Vietnam. The journey has been challenging because yarn suppliers have very high minimum order quantities (MOQ). For example a typical MOQ for charcoal yarn is 5,000 kg. This quantity will make around 15,000 meters of charcoal fabric. Is it too much for you? If yes, don’t worry, we have a solution. We have available stock of Eco yarns in our sister company www.greenyarn.vn to accommodate small orders. Contact us for more details about the charcoal fabric supplier in Vietnam we recommend.

Bamboo, coconut and wood all contain a lot of carbon and can be transformed into carbon fiber using a process called carbonization. This carbon is the “charcoal.” Carbonization applies heat and pressure to carbon-rich vegetable organic matter like coconut shells, wood, bark, bamboo shoots, paddy husk, peanut shells etc. Here is an example.
Bamboo charcoal fabric is made by drying and heating bamboo plants inside an oven at temperatures above 800 °C. The burnt bamboo becomes charcoal. The charcoal is processed, ground down and filtered into nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are then mixed into cotton or polyester fibres. These new fibres are then used to make charcoal yarn from which fabrics can be knitted.
Usually when we talk about charcoal (carbon) fibers we refer to the rigid objects that were formed using carbon fiber woven fabric that has been covered with epoxy. When the epoxy dries the woven fabric becomes stiff as a board. There are also soft carbon fiber fabrics that are known as bamboo charcoal fabric, coconut fabric and carbon fiber fabric. This soft version of carbon fiber fabric is what Wellfabric sells in Vietnam. Both rigid and flexible carbon fabric is made of carbon fibers which is, basically, long strains of carbon molecules.
Carbon comes from the latin word carbo which means coal. Carbon is a chemical element with the symbol C that has six neutrons and six electrons. It is the 15th most abundant element on Earth and the 4th most abundant element in the universe by mass after hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. It is the second most abundant element in the human body by mass after oxygen. Carbon’s ability to form long polymers is why it can be a fiber and then made into a fabric. The charcoal fabric fibers are basically long strong strains of carbon molecules.
