Melange comes from the French language, meaning “mix”. Melange yarn is produced by the combination of at least two different fibers. There are two types of melange yarn. One is blended melange that consists of fibers from different materials. The other is non-blended melange that consists of fibers from the same material. There are many options for small quantity colorful melange fabric made in Vietnam.
 
 
The result of melange is a unique-colored yarn, with a blend of different-colored fibers that develop the various shades in the yarn. Difference in ratio of fibers in the blend alters the uniqueness of spun melange yarn.
 
 
The melange of different yarns results in a fabric with a unique color effect. Usual finishing operations such as bleaching are outted of the process as they would destroy the yarn’s colors. Instead, the finishing of the product is reduced to napping, clipping and dressing the fabric.
 
 
For this effect, the fibers of a combed top are dyed and then mixed before spinning. Normally one part dyed fiber and one part undyed fiber are mixed, in a proportion which depends on the desired color intensity. It is also possible to mix more than two colors. In this manner, intermediate colors can be created which can be wonderfully combined with other colors. Strong, bright colors can be subdued by this method.
 
 
Recycled cotton melange yarn are spun from a recycling process which uses the leftover cotton fabric from new, pre-dyed garments. Textile waste is responsible for a lot of environmental pollution. The process of re-using left-overs avoids the destruction of materials in public dump incinerators. Since the colors are those of the previous life of the recycled fabrics, the dyeing process is eliminated, reducing the use of dyes, other hazardous chemicals, water and energy up to 90%.
 
 
Like traditional polyester, recycled polyester is a man-made fabric produced from synthetic fibers. However, instead of utilizing new materials to craft the fabric (i.e. petroleum), recycled polyester makes use of existing plastic. Recycled polyester is made by breaking down used plastic into small, thin chips, which are processed and eventually turned into yarn.
 
 
Recycling single-use plastics dramatically decreases greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing virgin polyester. Water usage is also significantly decreased during production. These plastic pieces are then converted into tiny pellets, melted, and spun into yarn.
 
 
In a cotton polyester blended yarn, when the amount of cotton fiber is more than polyester fibre and is called CVC yarn. Here, CVC stands for Chief Value of Cotton i.e., the ratio of cotton fibre is always above 50%.
 
 
TC is Tetoron Cotton as polyester/cotton blended. Tetoron is the Japanese name of polyester 40 years ago. In this blend, the amount of polyester fibre is more than cotton fibre, also more than 50%.
 
 
Normal market melange CVC 45 = Cotton 55% and Polyester 45%
